This neo-gothic style church is situated at the beginning of the infamous mall road. The height of the Church tower is 90 ft and it has a prominent round clock, a metal Cross, a brass bell, and a series of six small bells. The tower was erected in the year 1900. Dorje Drak Monastery, also known as TDAC Nyingmapa Monastery is another famous tourist place to visit as part of the Shimla tour. Vice Regal Lodge
Our list of best places to visit in Shimla 2-day tour is incomplete without Vice Regal Lodge also known as Rashtrapati Niwas. Located on the Observatory Hills, it was formerly the residence of the British Viceroy of India Lord Dufferin and was in the Jacobethan style. Its construction was started in 1880 and completed in 1888. The entrance to the South leads to the reception hall, which is adorned with a magnificent fireplace and a grand spiraling staircase. The building, which has six stories, is said to have been constructed using bricks brought in on mules. A library has been established inside the lodge, housing ancient articles and photographs dating back to the British rule in India. The impressive Vice Regal Lodge is surrounded by extensive pine trees and sprawling gardens on all sides. Today, the building serves as the center for the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS). While tourists are welcome to visit daily, only the grounds and entrance hall are open to the public.
